No one is perfect. That much is a known fact, and it isn't something that has to be taught and learned. Just take a look around you; imperfection is everywhere. I think that's what Auden was getting at with that quote. No one is perfect, yet we manage to love them and all of their imperfections. Or, at least we try our best to love them. As we all know, sometimes it doesn't work out that way.
Anger and jealousy often get in the way, causing all sorts of drama in our lives. The city of Seattle isn't free from it. Seattle doesn't get as much mention as other cities, like New York or Los Angeles, but it is a place that deserves just as much mention as either of those. It's alive, and breathing, a city with an unique scene all it's own. The climate may be a bit damp, and the sun may not shine as bright here as it does other places, but that does not mean that Seattle doesn't have as much to offer.
Don't believe me? Come and see for yourself. The crooked hearts of Seattle are making a mess of things, and it's only going to get worse before it gets better.
