OOC;
NAME: Robin GENDER: Female YEARS OF ROLEPLAYING: 3 ½
ABOUT THE CHARACTER;
NAME: Lauren Nicole Piner AGE: Sixteen GENDER: Female SCHOOL YEAR: Junior ORIGINATED FROM: Italy, Ireland FAMILY: Mother: Mother is Catherine Piner, she’s 43, and she’s a teacher. She and her husband are both alive and happily married. Even high school sweethearts. They married at young ages, with her mother being 20 and her father being 24. Rare, I know. But Lauren doesn’t let it get to her. She knows that things like that rarely happen, and to not get her hopes up. Father: Jeff Piner, he’s 47 and he’s a lawyer. See mother for story. Siblings: Older brother:: Blake, her 24 year old older brother, is in the air force, away at war. Although the parents don’t completely approve, he works hard to fight for his country. He is, like any other brother, overly protective of his younger sister. The very few times he is allowed to visit, he and Lauren spend much time together, and they have a close relationship. Well, as close as two people who are miles away from each other can get.
Younger brother:: Andrew, deceased at age six. PORTRAYED BY: Hayden Panettiere PICTURE:
APPEARANCE: Lauren stands at a somewhat short height of five four and weighs in at about a hundred and twelve pounds. Her hair is naturally blonde and is usually worn wavy or straight, hardly ever completely curled. She has amazing pearly whites that she does like to flash, at the appropriate time. As in, she’s not one of those girls that smiles constantly for no apparent reason. She’s not super skinny; she’s got a muscular body, thanks to all the swimming she does. She’s got girly but muscular abs, ‘guns’, and big thighs. Her butt? Well, we’ll let you be the judge of that. Her eyes are somewhat small, but still a nice hazel-y light green color. Her nose is skinny and her cheekbones are nice and round. Her lips aren’t too thin, but aren’t too plump or big either.
As far as her choice of clothes goes, Lauren can be completely laid back one day and completely dressed up the next. If she’s at a club, you might catch her wearing a gorgeous party dress. If you catch her after practice, you’ll see her in a t-shirt and Soffees shorts, maybe with her swimsuit underneath. If she’s just going out on a date or to a movie with friends or something, a nice top and jeans will do it most of the time.
PERSONALITY: Lauren’s a girl with great ambition. She has a bright future ahead of her, with good grades and involvement in the school’s activities. Although sometimes she has trouble with letting people stand in her way. She used to be a quiet girl back in Texas, but she’s been trying to let go of that. She’s made quite some progress since she moved to East Side Harbor her freshman year, but she still has her moments where she just can’t stand up for herself or say what she wants to say. When she’s not having those moments, she’s a pretty outgoing person. She’ll talk to you, no matter who you are. If you get her mad though, she’ll probably have a hard time telling you, and just act like everything’s fine.
She loves the water. She loves being in it and watching it, but most importantly, she loves the life in it. Yes, we're talking fish, dolphins, turtles, squid, octopus, and all those other weird creatures. Take her to an aquarium and she’ll love you.
As far as her social life goes, the opposite sex in particular, she tries to be pretty normal around them. And by normal meaning, someone who doesn't focus only on swimming. She chooses not to talk about her meets to people for fear of she might look like she's bragging or they'll think she's too busy for them. In conversations, she's a great listener. Although she might have the best advice, she'll listen. She cares a lot about people and doesn't like seeing those around her un-happy. Around guys, she does like to 'turn up the flirt a little bit, but not much. She has a coy sense of flirting.
She's a bit of a people-watcher. She stays in places longer than she needs to, just watching people. She's a bit fascinated by all the different types of people in the world, how they act and who they are. She won't judge you by your appearance or clothes. However, there is a difference between judging someone, and not liking you because of a bad first impression. First impressions mean a lot to her. If you act rude to her the first time you talk to her, she won't like you, and it'll be hard to get her to like you after that. If you flirt the first time you meet, she'll flirt back. It's all about what you do, and how you treat her. Although to her, actions speak a lot louder than words. LIKE: - The water and the life in it

SECRETS: Well, it's not really a secret, but only her best friend would know about her little brother. Also sometimes she wishes she wasn't such a 'straight edge'.
HISTORY: Early one morning, twenty-six year old Catherine Piner gave birth to a baby girl, with thirty year old Jeff Piner by her side, with many relatives outside in the waiting room of a local hospital in Texas. They named this baby Lauren Nicole Piner. Lauren was born into a big family, with lots of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Every family together was absolutely chaos. Little kids would be running around in the backyard laughing and screaming, while the teenagers were inside gossiping, and the adults were drinking and laughing, talking about football and politics and whatnot.
During her toddler years and early childhood, she wasn't the active girl she is now. She wasn't involved in any sports. She would sit and watch the same movie over and over and over, like many kids do. Sure she went outside sometimes, but she didn't spend her life out there, like some kids at that age do. She was also a very quiet little girl. She was rather shy, even around family members. They'd ask her something sometimes and she would just answer with a yes or no, and not really explain. If it was around a stranger, she usually wouldn't even talk at all.
At age nine, tragedy struck. After one night of those ‘family get-togethers’, where the adults probably had too much too drink, her dad was driving the family home. All of the sudden, the car swerved, ramming into another car and killing her six year old younger brother. Everyone else luckily survived. Lauren became more angry than sad, angry at her father for driving drunk. Her father says it was “nobody’s fault” that he died, but she believed that it was her dad’s fault. She was only nine, but she was angry. And she needed something to let all that anger out. No, she didn’t resort to drugs, cutting, smoking or alcohol. She resorted to swimming. Yes, swimming. A sport. Somehow, moving her little body strenuously through the water made her little nine year old body feel better. Nowadays, she’s on the school’s Varsity Swim Team, swimming as hard and fast as she can.
Soon after she became involved with swimming, she became addicted to it. Every week she looked forward to her meets, ready to give it all she had. Her team was pretty good, and they won quite a few meets. At age eleven, she wanted more than just being involved during certain seasons, so she joined a summer league. So from then, almost year around, she was devoted to swimming.
At age fourteen, she finally forgave her dad. Before she forgave him, her relationship with him had slipped and they didn't talk as much as they used to. Now some might say it was 'becoming a teenager' that stopped them from talking, but they both knew deep down that Lauren was still mad. Well finally she was sick of not talking to him and being mad, so she forgave him. Although she still has her moments where she just can't even look at him, thinking that her brother isn't alive because he made a wrong decision.
Also at age fourteen, recently after she forgave her father, she moved to the Isla Bela. Back in Texas, she was somewhat of a quiet girl who only opened up around her friends. But with a fresh start at East Side Harbor, she’s now trying to break out of her shell. She’s made quite some progress since she’s been here, but she still has her moments where she just can’t stand up for herself or say what she wants to say.
LIVING SITUATION: She lives in a house with just her, her parents, and their dogs.
For hours he sat in his room, guitar in hand, his fingers strumming away. He leaned against the wall, singing random lyrics, never quite finishing one song. He sang lyrics from his favorite artists – Jack Johnson, Lifehouse, and the All American Rejects to name a few. Nobody knew he sang, and he planned on keeping it that way. He didn’t think he was very good and would simply die of embarrassment if anyone ever found out. The truth of the matter was that he had a rough sounding voice, kind of like Jason Wade. It wasn’t a silky smooth sound – like Jack Johnson or Ryan Cabrera. But he still didn’t think he was good. Not even Lauren knew he sang, and they were practically best friends.
Setting his guitar down, he sighed and stood up. No one was home. His parents were at work and – Emily! Oh, shoot. He ran downstairs to find little four year old Emily sitting at a play dough covered kitchen table. Emily giggled as she saw her older brother. Austin sighed as he grabbed the play dough container and started dumping it back in. “Emily you should have told me you were playing with the play dough.” He said. “I diiiiid! You couldn’t hear me cause uh yer gee-tar.” Emily told him matter-of-factly. Austin looked at her and said nothing, placing the container on the kitchen counter. Where was Lauren when you needed her? She loved kids, especially Emily. He liked them too, just not as much, and he just wasn’t that good with them. He scooped Emily up out of her chair and set her down, “Come on, let’s go to the beach.” He said with a smile. “BEEEEACH! Yay.” Emily squealed as she ran upstairs to change into her swimsuit. Austin did the same
Once at the beach, Austin set Emily down on the sand, only for her to get up and run towards the water. Luckily no one was really around riding their bikes or anything, so he didn’t have to worry about her getting run over. He followed her towards the water and watched her. She put her toes in and laughed. Austin laughed too and then looked up, glancing around.
