APPEARANCE: Chess is a very small girl, standing at only five foot one. She weighs around a hundred pounds, which may seem light but she is fairly healthy for her age. Her weight goes up and down due to being vegan, resulting in her not getting enough protein at times. Her skin tone is normally a very light white. Compared to most people, she is very pale. Her hair falls a little past her shoulders and has been dyed to a very unnatural red color. On her left ankle is a tattoo of a pink teddy bear which resembles that she was the little girl of the family. When it comes to fashion, Chess is a comfort creature. She believes in feeling comfortable clothing over looking ‘hot’. She would never wear a miniskirt with four inch heels just to impress someone. That’s not how she works. Most of the time, she wears skinny jeans that hug her petite frame. Her shirts range in many different colors and styles. Some days she’ll wear a band t-shirt, while others she’ll wear a collared shirt to try to look a little nicer. Most of the time she wears brightly colored t-shirts, especially yellow, because in her opinion it reflects her cheerful persona. Chess was never one to care for fashion, which would explain why some days she looks like she just woke up and she calls that ‘fashion’. Shoes are her least favorite clothing because she is so picky when it comes to comfort. Most of the time she ends up in a pair of her black ratted converses that she’s had for years. She’s in between shoe sizes which explain her issues with choosing shoes. She prefers to go barefoot whenever she can. There are times when she’ll wear a dress, though she normally tries to dress it down. Most of her outfits she wears decides to wear in the spur of the moment. PERSONALITY: Chess’s the smart girl who loves to hang with the boys. As a little girl growing up, she loved nothing more than to just hang out with the guys. Nothing changed since then, except for the fact that she rarely admits that she’s smart. Most of the guys that she knows make fun of her when she acts overly smart. It’s not anything like she’s trying to act dumb to get a guy; she still does try to outshine her guy friends. In general, she is very competitive and especially with her guy friends. She tries her hardest to do better then them in everything. All her life, Chess was considered one of the guys. It resulted in her being extremely shy around guys that she really likes and around most other girls. If she’s really good friends with a guy that she likes, she doesn’t act any different. If there is a guy who is attractive that she doesn’t know well, she doesn’t talk that much around him. She acts shy around most people when she first meets them. Everyone loves a good party, and that includes Chess. She loves nothing more than to go to a big party with a group of friends. She is normally shy around new people, but get a few drinks into her and she’s talking to anyone. Chess likes to drink at times, a little too much. Drugs are something that Chess rarely ever does. They intimidate her more than any person she has ever met. Even though she likes to party, she doesn’t party too much. Only during special events does she really party. Chess is a little bit too truthful. She can’t help that she doesn’t like lying. It ends up biting you in the butt in the end. Plus, friends shouldn’t have to lie to their friends. It can only ruin relationship or make them pointless. Overall, life is ten times easier for to just be truthful. That also stands for people that she doesn’t like. In general, Chess is a very caring person. She likes to give most people the benefit of the doubt and ends up getting hurt because of it. Not only is she like that with people, but also with animals. She is a hard core vegan and doesn’t care what anyone says about it. Any good cause, she completely supports. HISTORY: Chessica was born into a family of four older brothers. She was a gift from above as her parents told her ever since she was two. Now even as a little kid she had no idea what was up with her name. To her, Chessica sounded like a horrible for a little girl. See, the problem with her parents was that they couldn’t never make up their minds for the life of them. The name Chelsea had always been their first choice. Then a close family friend named Jessica died and they wanted to something to commemorate her. Therefore they combined the names and Chessica was born. Her parents were so excited to have their first girl that they spoiled little Chess and dressed her up in little pink frilly outfits. Some little girls dream of attention twenty-four/seven, but for her it was hell. Her older brothers tortured her for dressing in girly outfits, saying that they were ugly. None of the dresses lasted long, within a week she would be found wearing the dress while playing soccer out in the mud with her older brothers. Nothing too girl went over well with her. When she was six, her younger brother Chris was born, the last Monroe. Of all her brothers, Chris was her favorite. Her older brothers picked on the two of them since Chris was the youngest, and Chess was the girl. It was around the age of eight that she had learned how to play both the guitar and piano. Both things became a passion of her and she continued to pursue learning and working with both. Her parents were in politics which caused them to be away for months at a time. By the age of fourteen, Chess spent most of her time raising her little brother and she had taught herself how to cook in order to feed her brother’s when her parents were out of town. She didn’t care that she had so much responsibility, though. Any moment she could spend with her brothers was fun for her. She spent a lot of her time was spent playing shooting games with her brothers. Around that age, there were only the three youngest kids living in the house and she was finally discovering her individuality. All her life she had been thought of as just another boy. All of her friends were guys, and she even had the super short guy cut. Her older brother’s friends considered her one of the guys. It wasn’t until a convention with one of her few girl friends that she decided to grow her hair out and dye it. Originally her hair was a natural dirty blonde color, but she died it an unnatural red color. Even though her friends taught her how to apply makeup, she never wore it because she felt to fake with it on. Finally, when she sixteen she had her first real boyfriend. She was a late bloomer to say the least. At seventeen years old, her parents decided to move her to East Harbor because they thought it would be safer for her there. Only her little brother went with her to the school since the older four had already graduated. She rarely sees her parents and in her opinion it’s for the best because she was a bit of a disappointment in their eyes. She was the little girl that they had, but wasn’t what they expected. LIVING SITUATION: Living with her parents, little brother, and two of her older brothers at Rose-Mary Gateway.
SAMPLE ROLEPLAY;
It had been only twelve at night when Izzy had woken up from her light sleep. At ten she had arrived home from being at a party, then had gone straight to bed. Someone from another band on tour had close family and friends in the area, and he had decided that he wanted to throw a party till bus call at three. The parking lot where the buses were, had been completely empty when she had arrived. Izzy loved parties more than anything, but tonight had been somehow different. Being away from her family was beginning to take a toll on the girl who had once spent every waking moment with her brothers. She had left the party an hour into it and had gone back to the bus and slept for about two hours. Now that she was awake, she wanted nothing more than to leave the bus. It reeked with the smell of guys, and not the nice guy smell of cologne or Axe or Tag, no; it was the smell of sweat and dirty socks. A smell that reminded her of home, and in some sick way made her feel comfortable.
From one of the top bunks on the right side of the bus, she climbed down and headed towards the tiny closet next to the bathroom. Opening the spray painted pink door, a sudden blast of vanilla filled the hallway. This closet was hers, and hers alone. From the pile of clothes crammed into the closet, she grabbed random articles of clothing, not caring if the clothes were matching. Going to bathroom she took a quick shower, using all of the hot water. Part of her did it because she knew it would bother the guys, another part of her just wanted to be a girl for once and primp herself…at twelve in the morning. Classy. Pulling on the clothes, she looked at herself in the full length mirror she had installed into the wall herself. The jeans she had chosen were a dark blue color and hugged her body tightly. The shirt she wore was white and written in red said ‘Gimme de keys! Gimme de keys!’. It was her favorite line from Weird Science, you know when Gary’s drunk in the car. Yeah, she was obsessed with eighties movies. The shirt was actually a present from a fan. Isn’t that awesome? A fan actually made her a shirt. That, so far, had been the highlight of her music career.
Walking to the front of the bus, she pulled on a pair of her old black converses on top of her Hello Kitty, knee high socks. Next to the door was a recliner chair that held at least five pitch black hoodies. Digging through to the very bottom hoodie, she pulled it over her arms. It was plain black with their band’s logo on the chest. Opening the front of the door, she took in a deep breath then began walking aimlessly. Finally, hunger overcame her and she walked to where she vaguely remembered seeing a grocery. Entering it, she looked around. Truthfully, she had no idea what kind of grocery store it was, but she knew that they all had a vegan section. Making her way towards the ice cream, she found a Toffuti carton of vegan chocolate ice cream. Smiling happily to herself, Izzy walked to the cash register. She gave the poor old lady working there a bit of a scare. Some person comes up to a nearly empty grocery store in a black hoodie, with the hood up. Sounds like a robbery to me. Paying with a crumpled dollar bill from her back pocket, she shoved the change back into the pocket. On her way out she stopped at the deli and took a sthingy. Once back in the cool air outside, she sat down on an old picnic table outside the store and opened her ice cream tub. Yes, she loved going to grocery stores at one in the morning and eating vegan ice cream. It was fun for her.
